  • Is Uganda safe?
    Uganda is one of the safest Countries in the world. She has very welcoming and hospitable people. The country’s priority is your safety as tourists and Uganda Tourism Police is a specialized wing to ensure your safety. Nevertheless, like any other country, always follow the guidelines to keep yourself safe.
  • When is the best time to do a safari in Uganda?
    Because Uganda is located on the Equator, you can visit any time of the year depending on specific safari needs, the country has favorable weather with alternating rainy and sunny seasons. The two rainfall seasons are March to June and October to November, a safari is still possible as the rains fall for only part of the day.
  • What kind of vehicle do you use for a safari?
    We use Customized 4WD land cruisers that can seat maximum 7 persons. 4WD minibuses seat maximum of 9 persons. In case a group has more than 9 persons and they want to travel together, we use a bus but all depends on the choice of a client. Flying to National Parks is also possible in Uganda.
  • Do I need to book a gorilla permit in advance?
    Yes, it is advisable to a book gorilla permit at least six months in advance and these are readily available online on Uganda Wildlife Authority website. The permits can be sold up to two years in advance.
  • What do I need to bring for gorilla tracking?
    The weather during gorilla trekking experience can be unpredictable and therefore carry a light waterproof jacket, at least one long sleeve t-shirt, have hiking boots, long pants/trousers, have a back pack that carries drinking water and lunch plus other essentials like binoculars and camera equipment. Avoid brightly coloured clothes.
  • What else do I need to bring with me?
    You need to bring items of personal nature like insect repellent and basic personal first aid kit. Basically, bring what you want to have on the trip.

Ten Days Uganda Wildlife Photography Safari

- SAMPLE ITINERARY -

Take a wildlife photography safari within Uganda’s most magnificent landscapes and improve your skills while photographing an ever-changing scene of wildlife. Learn how best to capture movement and light as you frame dazzling herds of zebras, Mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, majestic tree climbing lions of Ishasha, Hippos of Kazinga Channel and Chimpanzees of Kibale National Park. Spend time with the locals and document their traditions and other activities designed to maximize photographic opportunities

Day One

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and you will be received by Innocent Ampeire your guide. You will then be driven to your hotel in Entebbe for an overnight stay. It is here that we give the trip highlight and general tour briefing will be done.

Day Two

After breakfast you will be driven to the Water Front Beach in Entebbe to catch a boat to Ngamba Island for your day’s excursion to the chimpanzee sanctuary for an experience with the chimps and a walk around the island in search for birds, otters and the Nile monitor lizard (Africa’s largest and longest lizard). We will then return in time for lunch at the hotel and later head to the National Botanical Gardens for yet another date with Mother Nature.

Day Three

Have an early morning breakfast and depart for Lake Mburo National Park by 7:00am with a stopover at the equator and Mpanga forest famous for birds, butterflies and reach variety plant life.


From Mpanga forest we shall head to Lake Mburo National park where we shall arrive in time for lunch and check in to our safari lodge for a night. After lunch we head to the lake side (Lake Mburo) for a boat trip – it is here that the park derives its name. After the boat trip we shall have a brief game drive as we head back to the lodge with a chance to photograph game like the Eland, zebra, Cape buffalo, bush back, impala, giraffe and many more depending on the luck of the day.

Day Four

After an early morning breakfast, we shall head out for a community visit to have a chance of seeing and trying activities like milking cows and participated in the traditional ghee production as you document people’s life style.


We will then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Kabale Town. On this route, we will have a chance of photographing Lake Bunyonyi for the hill top, the smoky/mist covered Bwindi Forest as we drive through the forest. We check in to our lodge in Buhoma for overnight stay.

Day Five

After breakfast we go to Uganda Wildlife Authority Park headquarters for briefing before entering the forest in search for endangered mountain gorillas. Mountain Gorilla tracking can be tiresome but a very rewarding experience. There are also other wildlife including duikers, variety of birds, forest elephants, monkeys and others depending on the luck of the day. A visit to the Batwa community or hike to the waterfall is possible in the evening.

Day Six

After an early breakfast we drive north to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park with chances of photographing tree climbing lions, other species including Topi, hyenas and a variety of birds. We shall then drive straight to Katwe Salt Lake for yet another encounter with the community who are engaged in traditional salt mining. We shall also have the opportunity to visit Lake Munyanyange bird sanctuary famous for the flamingos. This is one of the IBAs (Important Bird Areas) in Uganda. In the evening we shall check into our Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day Seven

After an early morning breakfast, we shall head straight to the Kasenyi plains for our early morning game drive with an aim of catching the cats in action, viewing other big game like the elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, leopard, hyena, the Uganda Kob and many more depending on the luck of the day.


Afternoon is reserved for boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel at the Mweya Peninsular for yet another opportunity for us to catch up with many animals coming to the water point, a large number of birds - this area is famous for migratory bird species. The boat cruise is so rewarding and rich in the hot afternoon heat with many surprises occasionally. We shall head back to the lodge at leisure for dinner and overnight stay.

Day Eight

After breakfast we transfer to Kibale National Park with a stop in Fort Portal city then proceed to our lodge for check-in. In the evening crater lakes walk is possible and we return to the lodge in time for dinner.

Day Nine

After breakfast we go for chimpanzee tracking experience, in Kibale Forest - the world’s primate capital with thirteen primate species and depending on the luck of the day we may encounter at least seven. After chimpanzee tracking we return to our lodge for a break. In the afternoon, we visit Bigodi Community wetland for chances of photographing bird species like papyrus gonolek.

Day Ten

Transfer to Entebbe International airport. End of Safari, Thank you for visiting Uganda “the Pearl of Africa”.
